Abu Huraira reported Allah's Messenger (Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam) as saying: He who alleviates the suffering of a brother out of the sufferings of the world, Allah would alleviate his suffering from the sufferings of the Day of Resurrection, and he who finds relief for one who is hard-pressed, Allah would make things easy for him in the Hereafter, and he who conceals (the faults) of a Muslim, Allah would conceal his faults in the world and in the Hereafter. Allah is at the back of a servant so long as the servant is at the back of his brother.

Urdu Translation: Hazrat Abu Hurairah Radi Allahu Anhu se riwayat hai ki RasoolAllah Sallallhu Alaihi Wasallam ne Farmaya jo shaksh kisi Momin par se koi Sakhti dunya ki door karega to Allah Tala us par Aakhirat ki sakhtiyon mein se ek sakhti door karega Aur jo shaksh muflis ko Mohlat de (yani us par apney Qarz ke liye sakhti na karey) to Allah Tala us par Aasani karega Dunya aur Aakhirat mein, Aur jo shaksh kisi Musalman ka Aib chupayega duniya mein to Allah Tala uska Aib chupayega Duniya aur Aakhirat mein, aur Allah Tala Apne bande ki madad mein rahta hai jab tak banda apne (Musalman) bhai ki Madad mein Rahta hai.

Umm Salama, the wife of Allah's Apostle may peace be upon him reported Allah's Messenger may peace be upon him have said: He who has a sacrificial animal with him whom (he intends) to offer as sacrifice, and he enters the month of Dhu'I-Hijja, he should not get his hair cut or nails trimmed until he has sacrificed the animal.

As a devout Muslim, the beer ad offended Jaaber. So did the squad's scantily clad cheerleaders, with their low-cut tops and barely there bottoms— but as Jaaber put it, "To me, they're naked women." He even found the music pumped through the arena to be too profane.
"I understand that maybe I will never earn money from basketball because of this decision," he said at the time, "but I am ready to do such a sacrifice for my beliefs."
••► Jaaber is hardly the first Muslim — or even the first devout religious person — to play professional sports. But he is the first, or at least one of the very few, to quit so suddenly and so dramatically due to his faith.
